Cirrus is on her way to Hawaii!

posted by ulli @ 7/03/2006 05:14:00 PM
This morning at 11:15 am PDT, Cirrus crossed the Pacific Cup start line with the rest of the Division A boats. All except for Cayenne that is. That boat had a noticeable lead right from the get-go. But Cirrus was holding her own between California Girl and Hooligan (I think), followed by Cassiopeia and Green Buffalo, dicing it out for clear air as they all beat towards the Golden Gate Bridge.

Before the start, Agnes and I were fortunate enough to be invited aboard the race deck at the St. Francis Yacht club, where we took some great pictures that I hope to post here shortly. We also observed the entire start process with all the Volunteers counting time, hoisting flags, blowing horns, and firing the shotgun (!!) Thanks to Valerie, and the Pacific Cup Race Committee, for their wonderful hospitality.

Aloha Cirrus!
We wish you fair winds and following seas (and lots of clear night-time skies).

Chris and Agnes Doutre
